The name Sati (pronounced suttee) refers to an
ancient Hindu purification rite
in which widows would throw themselves on the funeral pyre of their
deceased husbands as an act of devotion, whether willingly or not.
We
choose this name to honor those women who performed these acts of torture,
sacrifice and purification.

At
the core Sati is Zenia Brar and Tamara Yeskel who concieved Sati in
April 2002 when their first performance together for Walspirgisnacht
clicked.
Since that time Sati has included at differing times and sometimes all
together: Core Pearson, Ruby Bloom, Alysa Volpe, Hot Lava, and George
Johnson. Sati
is often accompanied by live musicians, including: Sasha Drumure &
Llewyn Máire

...and
Sati continues to grow with time...
