Llewyn Máire started the Sardonik Grin project in 1995 as an outgrowth of "Hollow Spaces Eating Flies" (HSEF) a sound experiment started in 1988.

Sardonik Grin has generated atmospheric disturbances and engineered sound sculptures for live artists such as: Lisa Newman, Human Sculpture, Technician, Izanami, Eroto-Lucidity Comotose productions, Shinju, Hot Lava, Omi, Miss Appropriation, Jamie McMurray, the Hoopla Group, the gyrl grip, and various live action projects by Máire.

Sardonik Grin has also provided soundtracks for film and video artists Brent Joseph, Leslie Piper, and The Porcelen Twins.

Additionally Sardonik Grin has shared the stage with a variety of artists including; F-Space (Oakland, USA), Degenerate Art Ensemble (Seattle, USA), The Panacea Society (André Stitt & Matt Cook, Wales), Hop Frog (LA, USA), oVo (Italy), Thomas Dimuzio (USA), The Red King (PDX, USA), Savage Republic (SF, USA), Imbolc (Eastern Europe), Nommo Ogo (Oakland, USA), various members of PAN ZEN, and many others...
