Peter
Archer, A.K.A. Freedomfighta47, has been playing music since 1984.
He is primarily a percussionist and trap set drummer and has performed
live since the late 80’s.
Genres
of music groups include; punk, heavy metal, hardcore metal, blues,
folk-rock, live hip-hop, alt. rock, alt. country and tribal bellydance
music.
The
longest membership in a band was from 1993 to 2001 with Portland favorite
Gypsy Caravan, playing a wide variety of middle eastern and ethnic
music and instruments. Peter has recorded on many projects including
about 10+ published ventures including cassette tapes, CDs and performance
videos. He has performed at venues and events including Pioneer Square,
NXNW, SXSW, Bumbershoot(2X) and CBGB’s (NY). He has toured nationally
twice and regionally several times.
His
current project, in association with the Pan-Zen Konspiracy Nettwyrk,
includes original computer compositions combined with sampling to
construct thought provoking hip-hop/ glitch/ ethnic audio-scapes that
challenge current ideas of politics, technology and the state of the
world.
